Angel On My Stronger

Angel On My Stronger by Kaskade vs. Kelly Clarkson & Nicky Romero has grown on my to be a song that I have listened to on replay over and over again. I do not know what it is about this song but it has some sort of beat that just pulls me in. It may be Kaskade giving it his special touch or even Nicky Romero working something up with Kelly Clarkson but what ever it is it has me playing this song over and over again. For those of you who do not know who Kaskade is an American DJ and record producer who rose to prominence alongside producer’s deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner. Nicky Romero is a Dutch DJ and house music composer and producer. Go listen to it and maybe you will find yourself like me playing it over and over.

The Who – Baba O’Riley

If you have ever watched any of the CSI’s you may recognize this song from the opening seen. You may not know it as Baba O’Riley but as teenage wasteland. This group may be considered one of the primer rock bands of all time. They are also one of my favorite rock groups. Their song Baba O’Riley AKA teenage wasteland is my favorite song of theirs. It has a very catch melody that can connect with any generation. I believe that even though this generation is moving into the dubstep, house music era that The Who can transcend into the generations to come. The who have announced that they are going to be going on a North American tour starting this year called Quadrophenia. This tour Quadrophenia is based off of their rock opera Quadrophenia, production on the film Quadrophenia started September 30, 1978. The film of Quadrophenia was released August 16, 1979. They started their tour November 1,2012 and will be ending February 26,2012. This would be a concert that I would love to go see but unfortunately I will be in college and wont be able to make it to any of the concerts, but luckily for my dad he gets to go see them December 5th. I guess he will have to tell me how amazing of a concert they put on.

Life – Jon Bellion

Life by Jon Bellion may not be dubstep or house music but when I first heard this song it caught my attention. This song has a catchy tune to it, which makes me want to listen to it over and over. I really like how it opens with a piano and has it play throughout the song mixed with other instrumentals and vocals. I definitely would recommend giving this song a chance you might find that you actually like this song. If you like this song I would recommend checking out Jon Bellion’s Sound cloud page, he has several other songs that I believe are good.

Timeflies – Don’t Wake Me Up

In my opinion this song shows how much talent Timeflies has. It just shows how much they can do, anything from dubstep, rap, to acoustic remixes. Coming from someone that has been following this group from the beginning it is amazing to see how far they have come. They are not just doing remixes anymore they are actually producing their own material. They are releasing their new EP called “One Night” on November 27th; I cannot wait to hear their new and original tracks.

I Knew You Were Trouble (Remix)

When I first listened to this remix “I Knew You Were Trouble (Remix)” by  Taylor Swift Ft. Sammy Adams I did not totally like it but I downloaded it anyway. After listening to it a few more times it grew on me and I decided that it was a decent remix. As much as I love Dubstep and Electric house music I also do like to listen to some country sometimes. People may not like Taylor Swift’s music because all her songs are about breaking up. In my opinion I really do like her music even if her songs are all about breaking up, I could get over that but it be nice for her to have a song that had a different meaning behind it.

Swedish House Mafia: Until Now

Swedish House Mafia one of my favorite electric house music groups released a new album on October 22,2012 called Until Now. This album is the sound track to their fair well tour, which they will be going on before they call it quits and go their own separate ways as successful house producing DJ’s. This new album has a bunch of great new tracks and remixes of older songs. One of my favorites so far from this album is Antidote by Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party. In my opinion this song is a collaboration of two great house-producing groups, which makes for one killer song. Even after Swedish House Mafia calls it quits I believe that they will be remembered as one of the all time greatest house producing groups, that their music will continue to be played in the years to come.

Timeflies

These two guys that make up the group are amazing. Timeflies consists of Cal and Rez, they both are from New York city. They were two college students that made their dreams reality. They started as two guys just messing around making YouTube videos of themselves remixing popular songs, which would be released ever Tuesday. Hence Timeflies Tuesdays came to be, which brought them to where they are today. Performing at concert halls and colleges across the country. They are currently on there second big tour “The One Night Tour”. They have released two albums of original music and many Timeflies Tuesdays remixes. Their first album was “The Scotch Tape” and their latest album “Under the Influence”. I was lucky enough to go see these guys perform last May, at Irving plaza located in New York City. Seeing them perform live was crazy.

Swedish House Mafia

Swedish House Mafia is a Swedish electronic dance music group that consists of three producers. Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrossos form the group know as Swedish House Mafia. This group was formed in 2008, in only 4 years they have become one of the biggest house producing music groups around. When Swedish House Mafia tickets for December 16, 2011 at the Madison Square Garden went on pre-sale they sold out within 10 minutes. It was the quickest sell out that Madison Square Garden has ever seen it was totally unexpected; no one had ever sold out Madison Square Garden that quickly. On June 24,2012 they announced that they were splitting up and that they would be going on one final tour, called “ONE LAST TOUR”. Their tickets for their farewell tour went on sale a few weeks ago and me being a huge fan tried getting a hold of two tickets. Unfortunately I was not able to get a hold of any because the tickets were sold out within the first 10 minutes of being on sale. I really wish I could have gotten the chance to go see these guys live, I have been told that they were even better in person. These three guys known as Swedish House Mafia are the reason why I started listening to electric dance music.

We survived Barstool Blackout Tour: FOAM FEST

This past Saturday I went to Barstool Blackout tour: Foam Fest, held at Niagara Falls convention center. Barstool Blackout tour is a giant dubstep rave that has been traveling the United States visiting convention centers near colleges. This event went on for about 5 hours from 9pm until about 2 in the morning. My friends and I had an amazing time listen to dubstep while dancing with girls in the foam, Like who wouldn’t like foam, girls, and dubstep. The only down side to this event was that when it came to an end we were all soaked and it was freezing out. Which made for an interesting run to the car. Afterwards my friends and I truly understood the phrase “Fuckn Foam.” I believe anyone who attended this concert had an amazing time that they will never forget.

What is your favorite genre of music?

“What is your favorite genre of music?” Most people who listen to music dread this commonly asked question because they do not have just one particular favorite genre, they have many. I personally hate being asked this question, for me this is a rough question to answer just because I listen to so many genres of music. Dubstep, House, and Mash-ups are just a few of many genres that I like to listen to. I love to download music from music websites like http://www.freshnewtracks.com, playthingsongloud.com, and other sites that have unknown artist that are just getting started trying to get them selves out there.
